"Gov. Jan Brewer of Arizona signed the nation’s toughest bill on illegal immigration into law on Friday. Its aim is to identify, prosecute and deport illegal immigrants." claimed the New York Times in an article published on April 23, 2010.
...and on June 26, 2010, St. Petersburg Times had an article titled "Florida Republican leaders drawing up Arizona-styled anti-immigrant legislation."
Topix, a website, has a poll out there, asking the question "Do You Support Arizona's New Immigration Law?" As of 8:30 PM on July 1 it appears 12 folks in Palm Coast support the law, while 5 opposes. Palm Coast's votes seem to represent the national opinion (at least on Topix), whereby over 16,000 indicated they support the new Arizona Immigration Law, while about 3,400 oppose.
What is your take? Go ahead and vote on Topix, or feel free to leave a comment here.
Hard to believe that the Arizona Immigration mess has any legs at all. The idea that Florida would consider such a reprehensible law is embarrassing and I hope short lived.
