The Flagler County Wounded Warrior Walk is planned for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at Flagler Palm Coast High School. The walk is a 5.5 mile loop through Town Center, connecting to Flagler County’s Lehigh Trail and returning to the school.
A shorter loop is available for those who want to support a relay team.
Registration for the walk is $20 for individuals. Relay teams are $100 per team. Cost includes a lunch at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 51 North Old Kings Road in Palm Coast, after the walk.
Walkers are encouraged to sign up sponsors for each mile they walk.
County Commissioner George Hanns said:
“ It really is a great cause. The Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is to honor and empower our wounded warriors. Most people would like to thank those who serve our country, this event is a way to give back.”
Rest stops, traffic control and roving assistance will be provided along the route. Flagler County is also looking for corporate and private sponsors to assist in covering expenses of the event.
